Nothin' Like It

Nothin' like a new "do" (long awaited) , a little Christmas shopping, a very nice dinner at a very expensive fish market and I won't say what the topping of the night was, but you can guess. Just puts it all in perspective. Now it's back to the daily work grind and got my first paycheck with my decreased hours. Boy does that suck! Guess I'll have to try and pick up some overtime. That'll be hard on me. I love getting my X-mas shopping done and out of the way. I'm excited this year because we'll actually have some of our children with us and their significant others and we'll get back to buying toys for all. We are really big kids. And one of the funnest I discovered last night on our way to the mall, is that with the new road construction on our exit to the mall they've built a "round about". YES! Just like in England, with my British husband and all, the littlest things excite me. A real round about. Was tempted to go around a few times before getting off of it. They're fun, if you've never experienced it.

Heh ... I'm a big Christmas Supporter too ... but it's harder these days. Sooo many thing to get for the twins ... so hard to figure out what the Mrs wants.

Now, being a Mrs. myself. That's easy, jewelry! Or....have her print out a couple of items that she likes......a few, so she won't know which she's getting. My husband always suprises me, but he generally knows what I want. He, on the other hand always knows and gets what he wants. This year its a saltwater fish tank. I just priced it up. The cheapest I can get away with is $700, which is less than his last years prezie, which was his Movado watch, which I'm still payin' for. It's kind of hard to hide a 40 gal saltwater tank with satand which has to be established for a couple of weeks before he can add the fish, so he'll get the tank and a gift cert for the fish and I've got one suprise for him. Our kids are young adults now, so that's easy...cash and a day at the mall with just a few little suprises.

A round about?!? Isn't it just the little things that can bring us such joy? LOL But stay away from the holiday eggnog if you're going to "round about" again...

You see, In England, they really don't have four way stops. Our term here is a traffic circle. This one has two lanes. In England I've seen up to four lanes and it depends on the number of roads that spur off from it, but you enter it yielding to traffic, but go around in a circle until your spur and then exit without a stop sign. I know they have a few out east, like in Boston. OMG, it's fun. They are absolutely treacherous in England because their traffic moves so much faster than ours, but a blast. Watch National Lampoon's European Vacation. There's a scene where Chevy gets stuck in one in London for what seems to be hours. Very Funny!
